Why this site exists
You’re standing in the kitchen, flour dusting the counter, and the recipe you’ve picked up doesn’t work. The crust cracks. The filling curdles. The instructions skip steps you didn’t know you needed. Or worse, it works—but it’s not *yours*.
This site exists to fix that. Every recipe here is tested until it works, then tested again until it tastes like something you’d make yourself. No shortcuts, no vague measurements, no ‘to taste’ without a real answer. Just the steps that lead to a dish you can trust.
Who writes this site

Delia Beaudry runs this site.
Do you test every recipe yourself?
Yes. If I didn’t make it, bake it, or at least taste it from someone who did, it’s not here. No exceptions.
What’s the worst mistake you’ve made in a recipe?
Burnt meringue. Twice. Both times I ignored the oven’s beeping. Now I treat it like a smoke alarm.
Why isn’t a popular dish here?
Either I haven’t found a version that works, or I don’t like it enough to keep trying. No apologies.
Delia’s kitchen always has a half-empty coffee mug on the counter and a notepad with scribbled notes about ‘next time, less sugar.’
How a recipe is built
It starts with a dish that either broke a rule or didn’t feel right. Maybe the crust was too flaky, the sauce too thin, or the flavor missing something. Or maybe it was a recipe that worked—but only because of a trick no one else knew.
The first version

The recipe is written exactly as it’s made, no guesswork. Every ingredient has a weight, every step is timed, and nothing is left to ‘judgment.’ If a step feels wrong, it’s changed. If a flavor is off, it’s adjusted. No ‘to taste’—just numbers.
The fixes
Then it’s tested again. And again. The crust might need more butter. The filling might need a pinch of salt. The timing might need a minute longer. Only when it works three times in a row does it stay.
What we will not do
This site won’t publish recipes that require obscure ingredients, gimmicky techniques, or dishes that take three hours to make for a crowd of four.
Things you will never find here
- Recipes with more than 10 ingredients.
- Dishes that need a special tool you don’t own.
- Steps that rely on ‘instinct’ or ‘judgment.’
- Anything that can’t be made in under 90 minutes.
Where to start
If you’re new, try the ‘Beginner’ section first. If you know what you want, use the search. If you’re still stuck, the ‘Troubleshooting’ page lists the most common kitchen mistakes—and how to fix them.
Say hello
The contact page is where to ask questions, suggest recipes, or just say hi. Delia answers everything—eventually.
The recipes are grouped by category: Appetizers, Beverages, Breakfast & Brunch, Desserts, Main Courses and Reviews.
